The Central Services Department is responsible for two distinct functions for the Town of North Branford, Purchasing and Risk Management.

Purchasing is responsible for procurement and/or contracting for all suppliers, materials, equipment, other commodities and contractual services required by any department, office, agency, board or commission of the Town government, except the board of education.

Risk Management is responsible for loss control, litigation, claims management, contract management, occupational safety and health, insurance and risk financing. Additional functions include loss control, safety training and drug testing.


Purchasing Guidelines

  • A formal bid process is used for bids exceeding $7,500. A formal Request for Quotation or RFQ is used for bids less than $7,500. While a Request for Proposal or RFP is used to obtain proposals for professional services or when goods and service specifications cannot be developed that are sufficiently precise to make a selection solely based on price.

Permanent Project Building Committee

PPBC minutes

The Permanent Project Building Committee was formed in the fiscal year ended June 30, 1996. Their charge is to be the project building committee for any major Town building project. There is a core of 5 members and two members from the specific project's agency. (i.e., if a school project, the Board of Education can appoint the two additional members). Current members are:  Alfred DeRosa (chairperson), Robert Fitch III, John Krasko, Carol Davison, Ron Ragozzino and Stephen Whalen. Board of Education members are John Bozzuto and Ron Haskins.
