Board of Assessment Appeal
Assessor's Office
The Board of Assessment Appeals consists of three (3) members appointed
by the Town Council for a three- (3) year term. The Board hears appeals
from decisions of the Assessor. It is empowered to change assessments
in order to correct any inequities it may discover. New legislation per
PA95-283 states that the Board of Assessment Appeals will hold hearings
in March and September by appointment only. Written application must be
made to the Board of Assessment Appeals on or before February 20th annually
in order to be granted a hearing during the month of March. Legislation
is being prepared at this time to address the September Board of Assessment
Appeals hearing procedures.
Current Members are: William Neubig, David Stannard and Jack Zephir.
