Town Announces Opening of Warming Centers
North Branford, January 21, 2014: In response to the severe cold weather forecast, the Town of North Branford is initiating its cold weather protocol effective immediately. Beginning today, the following public buildings will be available as warming centers during normal business hours:
Town Hall, 909 Foxon Road Monday-Friday 8:30am to 4:30 pm
STW Community Center, 1332 Middletown Ave., - Monday-Thursday 5:30 am to 8:00 pm, Friday 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday & Sunday 6:30 am to 12:00 noon
Atwater Memorial Library, 1720 Foxon Road Monday-Thursday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
3 Old Post Road - Monday-Thursday 10:00 am to
Please note the Park & Recreation, Community Center, Senior Center and Social Services have moved:
They are now OPEN
Recreation Department and Community Center are OPEN (the exercise room is also OPEN)

Sewer Blockages and Backups- Please Read if You Are Connected to Municipal Sanitary Sewers
The Town is requesting your help to keep the Town sanitary sewer system functioning properly and to help avoid blockages in the sanitary sewer system that could back up into houses or overflow into streets or watercourses. Please review the attached documents that provide guidance regarding what should not be disposed of into sanitary sewers, precautions that homeowners can take to protect their property from potential backups of the sewer system, and contact information and advice if a backup occurs.

South Central Region Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan The South Central Regional Council of Governments (SCRCOG) has been awarded a grant from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to develop a Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan for 10 area towns, including North Branford. The Plan prepared through this project will identify and communicate hazard risks, develop actions to reduce or eliminate those risks, and make each municipality eligible for FEMA mitigation program funding before and after the next disaster strikes..
